First Annual DEAW Spring Conference
“Dance as Service”
It is with heavy hearts we have to announce the cancellation of this year's spring conference due to low registration. We want to thank Suzanne Ostersmith, Karla Parbon, and the team at Gonzaga for their excitement to host the conference, and we are so grateful for the presenters and everyone involved in the planning process. While we are sad that we are no longer able to offer the full spring conference, the team at Gonzaga will still be hosting a social at 6pm on Saturday March 14th. If you are in the Spokane area, we highly encourage you to attend!
As a board, we are committed to creating valuable programming for dance educators across the state and in planning for this conference, it has become clear that we still have a lot of work to do to expand our reach and activate new communities. We hope all of you will help us strengthen your community's connection to DEAW by getting involved with our regional ambassador program and by coming out to our fall conference and 30th anniversary bash later this year! We are hopeful for future events outside the Seattle area as we work to grow DEAW's network throughout Washington.

Why: This conference will happen in conjunction with ACDA Northwest, which will be hosted at Gonzaga March 11-14. Our conferences will share the theme "Dance as Service." How do our dance and education practices serve our statewide community? We are excited to explore this theme with a wider reaching network in the eastern part of our state!

Anne Green Gilbert Scholarship Application
DEAW is excited to offer a limited number of scholarships to cover the registration fee for the 2020 spring conference. The Anne Green Gilbert Scholarship honors Anne's role as the founding President of DEAW, and her many years of service as an exemplary dance educator. Complete and submit the form below by Friday, February 7th. Scholarship recipient(s) will be notified by February 15th.
